PAUL RODGERS: New Audio Interview Available
June 2, 2007A new audio interview with legendary vocalist Paul Rodgers (FREE, BAD COMPANY, THE FIRM),conducted by Tori Thomas of WZZO in Allentown, Pennsylvania, has been posted online in two parts: Part#1, Part#2.
Eagle Rock EntertaiDment released Paul Rodgers' debut solo DVD ($14.98) "Live In Glasgow" on May 29 and CD ($13.98) on April 17.
"Live In Glasgow", recorded in October of 2006 on the last date of his sold-out U.K. tour (which included a date at London's prestigious Royal Albert Hall),is stunning proof that Rodgers' voice has gained strength and sounds stronger than ever. This 135-minute DVD, shot with 13 cameras, includes brand new songs "Warboys (A Prayer for Peace)" and "Far Distant Shore", as well as songs he has not performed in 35 years, and many of his hits, including "All Right Now", "Feel Like Making Love" and "Can't Get Enough". Soulful, bluesy, swaggering, he belts out his songs, and also plays piano and guitar. The band: guitarist Howard Leese (HEART),bassist Lynn Sorenson, drummer Ryan Hoyle (COLLECTIVE SOUL) and 17-year old guitar prodigy Kurtis Dengler.
As previously reported, Paul Rodgers has signed on to headline a police memorial benefit concert. The event will be held June 13 at The Avalon in Los Angeles, with long-time L.A. radio legend Jim Ladd acting as the emcee, and Rodgers will be backed by the group HEAVEN & EARTH. The bill also includes the all-female AC/DC tribute band THUND-HER-STRUCK, as well as an acoustic performance by singer-guitarist Mark Castrillon.
Standard tickets run $50. VIP passes that include an after-party with a meet-and-greet cost $100. The performers have all donated their time, and all proceeds will go to the Los Angeles Police Memorial Foundation, which provides assistance to the families of slain and injured police officers.
